About NCA

The National Conference of Artists Michigan, founded in 1974 as a non-profit, has provided Art and Art Services in Michigan for over 45 years. We have held a Members Forum continuously every 1st Saturday of the month, since 1974. Thanks to zoom, this year was no exception!

It is one of the oldest chapters of the National Conference of Artists, Incorporated, founded in 1954 by Margaret Burroughs, Co-Founder of the DuSable Museum of African American History, Chicago, IL. 

The mission of The National Conference of Artists is: To preserve, promote and develop African American culture through the visual arts and to foster the creative forces of the artists that emanate from the African-American and African World Experience.

ART PARTY 31: THIRSTY FOR ART  AUCTION  SUPPORTS NCA's PROGRAMS

 

EXHIBITIONS -  The National Conference of Artists Michigan (NCA), hosts over 16 Exhibitions annually in its Main and Lobby Galleries, in addition to Touring Exhibitions.

ARTIST'S PROGRAMS - NCA's Artists' programs are for professional and developing artists. Programming includes classes, workshops, gallery talks, artists' forums. art conferences, as well as museum and private collection tours. 

EMERGING ARTISTS PROGRAMS-  NCA  Emerging Artists programs are for college-age or post-college art students seeking to develop their trade,  professional experience, and exhibition opportunities.

STUDENT ARTISTS -  NCA provides classes for students in grades 7 through 12th. The Student Summer Art Program (SSAP), is held each summer in which students learn about diverse mediums, portfolio creation and review, art as a vocation, exhibiting, and art from an African-American and  African World Experience. Students considering Visual Art as a vocation are encouraged to participate.
