The National Conference of Artists Michigan was founded in Detroit in 1974 as a non-profit. We hold the same goal as the National Conference of Artists founded 1959 in Atlanta Georgia (61 years). Our mission is to preserve, promote, and assist with the development of African and African American artists and their various forms of cultural expression, as well as to support the creative forces that emanate from the African world experience.  Our co-founders Edsel and Shirley Woodson Reid under the mentoring of Margaret Burroughs (of the Du Sable Museum in Chicago) and E. J. Montgomery, program developer officer of the United States Department of State Arts America Program at the United States Information Agency (USIA), David Driskell, Samella Lewis, Elizabeth Catlett and so many more assisted in establishing the stable programs that continue to serve artists in Michigan,  across the country, and internationally.Text in donations by sending nca to phone number 56651.  We assist members in many areas of art information. inquire at  NCAGallery@ncamich.org

We so appreciate the love and support of our  Patrons and members!
