In the last three years, this event has raised over $493,000. This direct impact has supported physicians and scientists at the University of Michigan to initiate a survivorship program, a breast surgical oncology training program, multiple research efforts, and to direct specific support toward the study of lobular breast cancer, a disease subtype that is under-researched and in critical need of new treatment options.  

With encouragement from the University of Michigan as well as the Breast Oncology Program and Breast Care Center, I have created the Dynami Foundation for Breast Cancer to continue Uncork for a Cure and to increase our ability to support the research and development of personalized cancer therapies, specifically for lobular breast cancer. Working closely with Dr. Daniel F. Hayes, Dr.Sofia Merajver, and Dr. Jacqueline Jeruss, Directors of the Breast Oncology Program and Breast Care Center, the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center ensures that money raised will be used to support meaningful and scientifically valid clinical and research endeavors.

Dynami (δυναμί) is a Greek word meaning Strength. The Dynami Foundation’s mission is to further the science, research, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer and to strengthen patients as they navigate the complexities of the breast cancer journey. Together, we are stronger.

• valid, up-to-date information about breast cancer subtypes
• research on the common but under-studied and poorly understood lobular cancer subtype
• connections to medical, prevention, health, wellness, and support through resources and symposia

While we have witnessed astonishing progress in breast cancer care and research over the last several decades, we continue to see women and men suffer and die from this disease. With your partnership, together we will take the next step in fighting this devastating cancer.
