Golfing With Purpose

On the waters of Narragansett Bay, confidence took the helm. Last summer, clients from our adult programs set sail through Sail to Prevail, a nonprofit program that harnesses the power of sailing to foster independence, teamwork, and joy. For our clients, the experience was more than just a day on the water, it was a chance to build self-confidence, practice teamwork, and prove that challenges can be met head-on with courage and community support.

Experiences like Sail to Prevail are possible because of the John Trimble Fund for Autism Golf Tournament. Each year, golfers and corporate partners come together to enjoy a great round of golf and open doors for our clients. Funds raised through the event support a variety of enrichment opportunities, including bowling, exercise equipment, school field trips, handicap accessible garden beds, youth summer camp, and zoo memberships.

In addition to sailing, proceeds from the 2024 tournament helped families in crisis receive the essentials they needed most—food, clothing, diapers, cribs, bottles, and safe transportation. Because of you, these families could focus on healing and fully engage in the clinical programs and supports designed to help them thrive.

Our golfers generosity also made moments of delight and inclusion possible for students at the Groden Day School. They danced the night away at a prom tailored to their sensory needs and enjoyed staying active with new gym equipment. These experiences remind our students that they belong, that they are capable, and that they are celebrated.

Together, all these opportunities add up to life-changing impact for the children, adults, and families we serve. And none of it would be possible without you.​
