The Merritt Academy PTO is more than an organization—it's a community of parents, teachers, grandparents, caregivers, and friends working together to make our school an extraordinary place for every child to learn, grow, and thrive.

Throughout the year, we are proud to celebrate the incredible educators and staff who pour their hearts into our children each and every day. Together, our community commits nearly $35,000 annually to recognizing and celebrating the 160+ lead teachers, assistant teachers, and support staff who make a lasting impact on our students and families. From holiday Visa® gift cards presented during the Christmas season to a week-long Teacher Appreciation Celebration each May featuring special meals, treats, gifts, and surprises, your support ensures our dedicated educators and staff feel valued, celebrated, and appreciated all year long.

Beyond teacher appreciation, the Merritt Academy PTO hosts a variety of special sales, promotions, family events, and ticketed fundraisers throughout the year that enrich the Merritt experience for everyone. These fundraising efforts support our popular First Friday celebrations, help offset the costs of beloved community traditions like Spring Fling, Merritt Mash, and Holiday House, and provide professional development, continuing education, and conferences that empower our teachers with new skills, fresh ideas, and innovative classroom practices. Our annual Merritt Gala provides another meaningful opportunity to give back, with proceeds directly supporting capital improvement projects, campus enhancements, innovative learning spaces, and other initiatives that strengthen the Merritt Academy experience for generations of students.

Just as importantly, the PTO is powered by volunteers. We are a community that comes together to create the experiences that make Merritt so special. Whether you're helping with a Uniform Swap, decorating the halls for Merritt Mash, serving as a shopping helper during Holiday House, volunteering at Spring Fling, supporting the Gala, coordinating teacher appreciation, or lending a hand with countless other events and activities throughout the year, every volunteer plays an important role. These moments are only possible because families, grandparents, teachers, staff, alumni, and friends generously give their time, talents, and support.

Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness helps us celebrate our educators, enrich our students' experiences, strengthen our school community, and continue the traditions that make Merritt Academy such a remarkable place to learn and grow.

About the Merritt Academy PTO

The 501(c)(3) Parent Teacher Organization is an active and inclusive community of adult volunteers at Merritt Academy. Parents/guardians of enrolled students automatically qualify for membership and may engage in PTO activities. The mission of the PTO is to welcome families and build community, support the school in the educational process and assist the school in fundraising projects.
