FLASHLIGHT | Southern Exposure's 2026 Benefit Art Auction background

ABOUT THE EVENT

FLASHLIGHT

Southern Exposure is thrilled to present FLASHLIGHT, a benefit art auction illuminating a path through dark times. Follow the beams of light shed by awe-inspiring artists to an evening of dancing, friends, and supporting the arts on Friday, April 17, 2026. Featuring a silent and a live auction led by esteemed Bonhams Auctioneer Aaron Bastian, food by Xulo, beer by Fort Point Beer Co., and a DJ set by Earth Angel, this event promises incandescence.

We need to raise $275,000 at this year's auction, even more than in previous years, in order to secure the next steps in our organizational evolution. Please consider donating to our Short-Term Stabilization Fund, which will be used for strategic planning and leadership support and to secure our rent for 6 months.

About Southern Exposure

Southern Exposure (SoEx) is an artist-centered nonprofit organization committed to supporting diverse visual artists. Through our extensive and innovative programming, SoEx strives to experiment, collaborate and further educate while providing an extraordinary resource center and forum for Bay Area and national artists and youth in our Mission District space and off-site, in the public realm. Since 1974, SoEx has been a vital part of the Bay Area arts ecosystem, and your generous support of our auction will allow new, emerging, and experimental art to flourish in the year ahead.
