Home of the first Swedish settlement in the state of Minnesota, Scandia is rich in history. Tucked into our forests - and displayed on fields of agriculture - you'll find historic homes ranging from Swedish settler's cabins -- to brick farmhouses -- to cozy cottages overlooking the St. Croix River and local lakes. This is not your big-city luxury home tour - but rather a glimpse back in time to a simpler life in rural Minnesota. Your tour ticket includes a picnic lunch at your leisure between 11:30 and 1:30. This is a self-drive tour, and you will be provided with a map, addresses, and home descriptions at registration. The official tour starts at 10am, and registration opens at 9am at the Scandia Community Center with coffee and treats. Gammelgården Museum across the street will open at 9:15 to welcome guests who would like to visit the historic log church and gift shop before the official tour begins.
