Meet Aimee Jacobs
Aimee Jacobs, an ultrarunner and Army physical therapist, has transformed her personal battle with a rare bone cancer, chondrosarcoma in her pelvis, into a mission of hope. Despite her diagnosis, Aimee has continued to achieve remarkable athletic feats, including winning the 2024 Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run 100 Miler and placing highly in other events.
As a rehabilitation provider herself, Aimee understands the importance of high-quality medical care. She has been receiving treatment from her oncology team at Brooke Army Medical Center, including her ortho oncologist, Dr. Gavin Mills, who also works with cancer patients at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital.
Feeling fortunate for the world-class care she's received through her Army status and medical connections, Aimee was inspired to help others facing similar cancer diagnoses who may not have immediate access to such resources.
For Aimee, running has always been about more than just personal achievement. She now uses her races as a platform to raise awareness and support for individuals battling cancer, aiming to make a difference for those who might not have the same immediate resources she did.
