Meet Aimee Jacobs
Aimee Jacobs is an ultrarunner and Army physical therapist who has transformed personal adversity into a mission of hope. Diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in her pelvis, a rare bone cancer, Aimee didn't let this challenge deter her spirit. Instead, she channeled her resilience into running, achieving remarkable feats such as winning the 2024 Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run 100 Miler and securing top positions in other running events.
Aimee has a passion for patient care as a rehabilitation provider herself. She has been receiving world-class care from her oncology team at Brooke Army Medical Center. Her ortho oncologist, Dr. Gavin Mills, also does cancer work at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital. Aimee felt blessed to have such high-quality medical care due to her current status in the Army and connections in the medical field, and she was inspired to do something to help others facing a similar diagnosis who may not have the same resources immediately available to help them through their tough times.
It has always been more than "just running" for Aimee, so she is wanting to use her races as a platform to raise awareness and support for others in their fight against cancer.
