About PLAY for P.I.N.K.
Play for P.I.N.K. Millbrook began in 2015 as a golf and tennis event at the Millbrook Golf and Tennis club. Over the years we have grown, become a luncheon at the Mashomack Preserve and has raised nearly $500,000.
Play for Pink Millbrook is one of over 350 Play for PInk (PFP) events held throughout the US. PFP is a grassroots non-profit contributing 100% of all proceeds to its sole beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to fund the world’s top researchers.
To date, Play for P.I.N.K. has raised nearly $70 million to fund the world’s most promising breast cancer research by the brightest minds in the field. This research is already saving lives, improving outcomes and uncovering new approaches to this complex, challenging disease. Play for PInk supports 15 researchers through BCRF, pursuing projects that stand to improve care in towns and communities across the United States.
Better understanding of breast cancer not only leads to better outcomes for people who have it; it unlocks the secrets of other diseases as well, with some targeted therapies for breast cancer having treatment applications against other types of cancer, too. One such example is the discovery of Herceptin for the treatment of HER2+ breast cancer, which is now also being used to treat HER2+ esophageal and metastatic gastric cancers.For more information, visit www.playforpink.org.
