Founded in 2024 by Wendi Sugarman Bieber, a stage three breast cancer survivor, the PINK-O Charitable Foundation serves as the nonprofit 501(c)(3) umbrella of PINK-O de MAYO®, “the party for a purpose” which has become a renowned, sold-out South Florida event since she created it in 2021.  The PINK-O Charitable Foundation was granted a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This designation furthers the Foundation’s mission and expands its support in the South Florida community in its alignment and partnership with the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This status also allows donors to make tax-deductible contributions, enhancing the Foundation’s ability to raise funds to support its focused programs and initiatives for UM SYLVESTER patients. Bieber and the PINK-O CHARITABLE FOUNDATION’s Executive Board of Directors; Sherry Philipson, Gaby Cubeddu, Jennifer Ross and Cheri Eisen are elated with PINK-O’s shift from generic patient support into a more defined, consistent and focused direction and intention. PINK-O’s focus now is to designate funding for Psychological Support, Integrative Wellness and therapy services for patients, and for the support and growth of the C.A.R.E (Cancer Assessment Risk Evaluation) Clinic, a pioneering program to assess those at high risk or a pre-disposition for developing breast cancer through interventional, surveillance and personalized care led by Dr. Alejandra Perez., Medical Director of the Braman Family Breast Cancer at UM SYLVESTER. “As a Board, we are committed to providing the support and care no matter who you are and at what stage of this you are in, or before you are ever in it. In addition, we are placing great emphasis to provide women in their 20’s and 30’s with the necessary resources, as we are seeing this disease occur at much younger ages. The level of support and alignment for the initiatives of Dr. Alejandra Perez and Dr. Frank Penedo, UM Sylvester and all those associated, allows us to exceed way more than I ever knew was possible to facilitate in my survival privilege, and there is truly no better Executive Board to have by my side in mission and execution” says Bieber.

NCI Centers meet the highest and most rigorous standards for cancer care and treatments and are known for their scientific and clinical excellence, with cutting edge resources and abilities to integrate various approaches through research and trials for cancer. With this innovation, cancer experts, research, trials, state-of-the-art care and cancer experts, allows a plethora of new opportunities to serve and support patients.
