Oktoberfest proceeds benefit the Community Connections program at Valley Senior Living.

With a focus on keeping Valley Senior Living residents connected to the community, the Community Connections program includes life enrichments for residents including the opportunity to stay active in clubs and organizations, go to sporting events, concerts, theater productions, and continuing the connections they have to the community.

The Wishing Well Fund is a part of the Community Connections program, and gives residents the opportunity to reconnect with their past or experience something they've always wanted to do by providing resources necessary to grant their wish..

First 320 tickets receive a commemorative beer stein!

"HAPPY MUSIC FOR HAPPY PEOPLE!"

Matt Hodek’s Dakota Dutchmen band is an authentic style polka band from Lankin, ND. They use traditional instruments such as concertina, accordion, tuba, piano, brass, reeds and drums to make up the sounds of this fine group of musicians. The tunes they play not only include polkas and waltzes but foxtrot, two-step, big band and an occasional patriotic song.

Master of Ceremonies: Matthew Ternus

Matthew Ternus is a standup comedian who has performed across North Dakota, Minnesota, and beyond, from comedy clubs and theaters to the Orlando Comedy Festival. He has opened for comedians including Robert Baril and James Stanley and was a semifinalist in the 2026 Acme Comedy Company’s Funniest Person Contest. A three-time CommunityVotes Grand Forks Platinum Entertainer, Matthew seeks to have everyone engaged and laughing.

Valley Senior Living Foundation is excited to welcome Matthew as the master of ceremonies for the 6th Annual Oktoberfest. His humor, energy, and audience interaction are sure to make this year's celebration even more memorable.
