Since 2005, the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) has delivered more than 39,000 mammograms—bringing early breast cancer detection to women across Bexar, Comal, and surrounding Texas counties, no matter their financial means or location.

Each year, the MMU visits nearly 200 community sites, focusing on underserved areas through partnerships with Hill Country Mission for Health, YWCA San Antonio, WellMed, and the Madonna Center.

Thanks to donor generosity, a new 3D mammography-equipped MMU launched in January 2023, improving accuracy and saving more lives. With a focus on uninsured, minority, and rural women, the MMU is reducing breast cancer morbidity and mortality through early detection, education, and compassionate support.

The Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization formed in 1997 to support CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and the lives of the patients we serve. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation supports innovative health care, as well as medical services for the uninsured and the underinsured at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospitals in the South Texas located in Alamo Heights, Westover Hills, and in New Braunfels. This means that all patients who enter our doors have the opportunity to experience unmatched medical care from the very best physicians and medical staff.
