Lake Michigan Academy

The mission of Lake Michigan Academy is to transform lives by empowering students with learning differences to achieve their full potential.

Lake Michigan Academy strives to transform the lives of children with learning disabilities. We empower students to focus and build their strengths not their weaknesses.  Students leave LMA with renewed self-esteem and lifelong tools for success. Our alumni continue to develop learning skills, social skills, and self-awareness techniques which help them become valuable  individuals in society.

Turning Pages

Turning Pages is a Grand Rapids-based non-profit organization that provides one-on-one tutoring for children and adults, in reading, writing and spelling. We tutor using the Orton-Gillingham approach which is multi-sensory and phonetic. We also provide training for parents in this approach, so they may create effective lessons for their home-schooled children or for tips and techniques when reading and spelling at home.

The goal of our tuition assistance program is to provide any family in need of financial assistance. Every dollar raised at this gala benefits the families of our program.
