Peace is not something we talk about. It’s something we practice. 

From their first day on campus, our learners are taught that serving peace begins within. By nurturing self-awareness, balance, and wellbeing, students build the foundation for how they listen, relate to others, and engage with a complex and diverse world.

At LJA, peace is active and intentional. It calls for empathy, courage, and the willingness to stand up for what is right with integrity and care. We teach our students that caring for their own wellbeing strengthens their capacity to lead with clarity, compassion, and resilience.

Serving peace shapes our community. It honors diverse perspectives, fosters meaningful intercultural understanding, and prepares students for leadership that is thoughtful, brave, and deeply human.

The LJA Peace Gala is an invitation to be part of that work—supporting the next generation of global citizens as they carry peace forward, in themselves and in the world.

And in last year's heartfelt gala video, students share what hana pono means to them and how it shapes who they are becoming—as individuals, as learners, and as future leaders. From personal growth to positive impact on LJA, the community, and the world, their reflections highlight the deep and lasting influence of living with intention, integrity, and compassion.
