About WMA, formerly AWCMS, and the AWCMS Endowment Fund
We have a new name and logo!
The Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society, AWCMS, is now the Washoe Medical Alliance, WMA.
Mission: AWCMS advances the health of the community through educational and philanthropic works, health advocacy programs, and support of the Washoe County Medical Society (WCMS)
Established on April 16, 2018, the goal of the AWCMS Endowment Fund is to address the health needs of the Truckee Meadows now and well into the future by providing critical funding to local non-profit organizations that directly deliver health services and programs to Northern Nevadans.
About Our Beneficiary
CampCare Nevada
CampCare Nevada has been changing lives since 1971 by offering youth and adults with mild cognitive and developmental delays the chance to experience the joy of summer camp. Each year, campers ages 14-55 gather at beautiful Lake Tahoe. The week is filled with arts and crafts, music, swimming, outdoor adventures and lifelong friendships.
The program is built on the belief that every person is special and deserves opportunities to grow, connect and shine. With a safe, supportive environment and dedicated staff, CampCare helps campers build independence, gain confidence and create lasting memories — while also giving families and caregivers a much-needed break.
By supporting this year’s event, you are helping ensure that CampCare Nevada can continue its mission of providing transformative inclusive camp experiences that nurture joy, community and personal growth.
