Terms and Conditions for the Inspiring Hope Silent Auction
Organizer: This silent auction is hosted by the South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS) as part of our fundraising event, Inspiring Hope.
Eligibility: By participating in this auction, you confirm that you are of legal gambling age (19 years or older) in British Columbia, Canada.
Auction Items: All items are sold "as is" and are subject to availability. Please review all descriptions carefully before placing a bid. No exchanges or refunds will be offered.
Item Pickup: All auction items must be picked up in person at a designated location within the city of Penticton, BC. Shipping or delivery is not available. By bidding, you acknowledge that you are responsible for retrieving any items you win within a reasonable timeframe, which will be communicated after the auction closes.
Payment: By placing a bid, you agree to pay for any items you win. Payment must be completed by 12:00 PM PST on November 3, 2025. Items not paid for by this deadline will be automatically processed by 12:00 PM PST on November 4, 2025 using the payment method on file.
Tax Receipts: In accordance with CRA charity regulations, tax receipts cannot be issued for auction purchases, as these are considered transactions for value. Tax receipts may be provided for direct donations made during the event (e.g., Fund a Need) where no tangible benefit is received in return.
Bidding: Bids may be placed through the ClickBid platform until the auction officially closes. The highest bid at the time of closing will be considered the winning bid.
Liability: SOWINS is not responsible for any errors or omissions in auction listings or item descriptions. All participants bid at their own risk.
Changes to Terms: SOWINS reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
