We are proud to recognize Karla De Epstein and Andy Epstein as our 2026 #AimHigher Award recipients.

Karla and Andy are dedicated members of the Hoboken community and proud parents of Valentina and Milan. Together, they are strong supporters of Hoboken’s public schools and champions of HPEF’s mission, with a meaningful commitment to advancing special services programming and resources that support all learners—an area close to their hearts as a family.

Karla’s journey from Peru to Hoboken reflects remarkable resilience. Arriving in the United States at 22 without speaking English, she built a successful career in technology and now serves as a Software Engineer at KPMG. She is also the founder of MacroFit, an award-winning nutrition coaching program. As a mother and autism advocate, Karla is passionate about ensuring every child has access to the support they need to thrive.

Andy, a Brooklyn native, has demonstrated entrepreneurial vision throughout his career. He co-founded B&A Food Brokers with his father, growing it into a national company with offices in 19 states. Alongside his professional success, he remains committed to philanthropy and community engagement.

Their generosity and advocacy have made a lasting impact on Hoboken’s public schools, helping to expand resources and opportunities for students and families across the district.
