Every year, hundreds of children come through Hamilton Healthcare System’s Emergency Department — 933 pediatric patients in 2025 alone.

Pediatric medications are dosed by weight, in kilograms. Right now, our team has to convert from pounds every time — and every conversion is a chance for error, at exactly the moment precision matters most.

Your gift helps fund a kilogram-only pediatric scale and mobile cart for our ED, removing that risk entirely and giving our team the tool they need to care for our smallest patients safely and quickly.

This project is part of the National Pediatric Readiness Project, a nationwide effort helping emergency departments like ours become properly equipped for pediatric care.
