About Our Event
“Monarch Place Transition House, the Royal City Rotary Club, and the Burnaby Rotary Club, are teaming up again for our 28th Annual Online Fundraiser “To the Heart of the Matter”.
Over the past 27 years, “To the Heart of the Matter” has raised over $1,100,000 for local and international charities. As always, the proceeds are divided between the 3 partners. Monarch Place Transition House provides shelter and support to women and children fleeing domestic abuse. The Rotary Clubs have earmarked their projects for: New Westminster Victim Assistance Unit Rotary Van; New Westminster Secondary School Hot Lunch Program; Backpack buddies for Burnaby students, and a 14 bed Health Clinic in the Shurugwi District, Midlands province of Zimbabwe.
