About Huntington Arts Council
The Huntington Arts Council is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 1963 to provide coordination and programming services for the arts, inspiring and aiding in the growth of arts organizations and individual artists across Long Island. Huntington Arts Council celebrates the diversity of Long Island’s cultural resources through sponsored activities, programs and publications that advocate cultural awareness and education.
Huntington Summer Arts Festival
Since 1965, HAC in collaboration with the Town of Huntington has presented the Huntington Summer Arts Festival. The festival brings an exciting schedule of performing artists to the Chapin Rainbow Stage inHeckscherPark. Performers include award-winning, world-class talent in music, dance, and theatre from Huntington, Long Island, and around the globe.

Main Street Gallery
HAC runs a diverse exhibition and gallery program. Last program year we featured 316 artists in our programs, connecting them to an audience exceeding 14,613 through both live in-person events and virtual content.

Arts in Education, JOURNEY
The JOURNEY program offers schools a thematic multicultural education program that enriches lives and aids in the overall learning experience. JOURNEY directly serves 34,699 students (K through 12th Grade) and 2,696 educators in eight school districts, by fostering the understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and traditions.

Grants for the Arts
The Huntington Arts Council manages the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) State & community Regrant (SCR) program, fostering the arts by funding opportunities for Nassau and Suffolk-based nonprofit arts organizations, individual and teaching artists. Long Island Arts Grants are made possible with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Community Communications

HAC’s website, Arts and Cultural News newspaper, social media presence, mailings both digital and post, enable us to share valuable information about our programs, artists, organizations and cultural events with the community.
