Join us on November 11th as we host our 38th Annual Auction. The auction will be hosted at the Sheraton Detroit Novi starting at 6 pm. The theme of this year's auction is Casino Night! Early Bird pricing will end October 23rd at 4 pm. After this time, the pricing for tickets will go to $100 per ticket and $1,000 per table. 



About Guiding Harbor

Guiding Harbor is a private, non-profit organization (38-1660780) that provides Foster Care, Adoption, Residential, and Supervised Independent Living Services to abused and neglected children in Michigan. For more than 60 years, we have provided a supportive and nurturing environment for children when they cannot stay safely in their homes. Our goal is to educate each person placed with us by teaching the life skills necessary to make wise decisions so they may become a productive member of society. We rely heavily on donors to help carry out our mission.

The Guiding Harbor Auction is an annual event that helps raise money to support children in foster care.  All money raised at the auction goes directly towards meeting the needs of the children served by us.




About the Event


With your ticket to Casino Night, you will receive $50 in “play money” casino chips to kickstart your gaming experience. Exchange your winnings for prize tickets, giving you a chance to win exclusive prizes that are not available in the auction. Place your bets, test your strategy, and enjoy the exhilaration of playing with our casino chips. Throughout the event, you’ll have the chance to contribute to supporting Michigan’s foster children. 

Take your chances at the various game tables, where dealers will guide you through each game. Whether you are a seasoned player or new to the casino experience, there will be something for everyone. Accumulate chips, participate in friendly competitions, and immerse yourself in the joy of the game—all in support of Guiding Harbor.  

This is a semi-formal event, please wear your best casino attire (Cocktail dress, pantsuit, business suit and tie, etc.). 

Just like in years past, there will be a variety of auction baskets. You can browse the baskets in person and/or virtually from your mobile device, you can then choose to place bids on or purchase the auction baskets. There is no auctioneer, instead you place bids electronically.

6:30 Welcome by Board President, Dinner served promptly after

7:00 CEO Presentation

7:15 Casino Games open 

8:30 Dessert is served

8:45 Pause for the Cause (Casino games pause)

9:00 Casino tables resume 

9:30 Silent Auction Closes 

9:45 Casino tables close, Guests can start picking up their winnings,

 Raffle winners are pulled

10:00 Casino games close. Casino raffle drawing

We will be eating dinner early this year at 6:30 pm so please make sure you arrive prior to 6:30.
