About Garden Tour

Immerse yourself in the beauty of some of the most stunning private gardens in the area at LACASA’s 26th annual Garden Tour. This cherished event, now in its 26th year, offers the opportunity to stroll through meticulously curated landscapes, discover horticultural inspiration, and support local victims of interpersonal violence.

Along with access to six exceptional gardens, tourgoers can catch their breath at Petals Café, our complimentary snack and refreshment station, at the tour’s midway point. There, guests can bid on carefully curated baskets and items in the Blooming Raffle.

Eagle-eyed attendees will enjoy searching for a hidden item at each garden and complete the Stargazer Scavenger Hunt for the chance to win a bonus prize.

All proceeds from Garden Tour benefit the victims and survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence that LACASA serves.

Garden Descriptions

Here, you'll find descriptions of each stop on the tour so you can plan your day.

House #1 – Kuhlman Garden (178 Abby Brook Lane, Howell, MI 48843)

In 2007 Diane and David Kuhlman patiently began clearing invasive species, revealing a treasure trove of native plants like Solomon’s seal, Doll’s Eyes, and Blue Flag Iris. They unearthed a more than 80-year-old hay rake, a charming relic now part of the landscape.

Terrain: Many sloping, wood-chipped paths; some spots uneven with exposed roots.

Parking: On-street parking

House #2 – Fitzpatrick/Berry Garden (4066 Proceeds Drive, Pinckney, MI 48169)

Stretching over one-half acre, this wildflower and native plant meadow was broadcast seeded from bare, sandy soil by owners Kerry and Linda after the construction of their home in 2016.

Terrain: Mowed pathways throughout, with one steep incline to access a corner of the garden.

Parking: Use the shoulder in front of the first or second house on the right after turning on Proceeds Drive.

House #3 – Hansen Garden (9068 Amaranth Way, Brighton, MI, 48116)

This charming home in the Southeby Square neighborhood extends a warm garden welcome with its arbor majestically adorned with climbing clematis.

Terrain: Take the narrow pathway through the trees that leads from the driveway to the backyard.

Parking: On-street parking

House #4 – Terraces Flower Farm *site of Petals Café (440 Rowe Road, Milford, MI, 48380)

Witness thousands of cut flowers grown without herbicides of pesticides, fostering natural habitats for birds and pollinators at the magic and wonder that is Terraces Flower Farm.

Terrain: Slightly uneven and hilly

Parking: Follow the posted signs on property. Farm not visible from the road. Exit via neighbor’s driveway.

House #5 – The Coopersmith Garden (88 Moon Ridge Drive, Milford, MI, 48380)

Pat and Al Coppersmith have spent over 8 years reviving this 3.25-acre gem, no bursting with unusual perennials, shrubs, conifers, a butterfly garden, and a vegetable garden.

Terrain: Mainly level with some slight grassy slopes and mulched paths.

Parking: In front of the house on Moon Ridge Drive.

House #6 – Cain Garden (13110 Dunham Road, Hartland, MI, 48353)

Take a step back in time to a piece of history with Sandie Cain’s garden space. Vibrant perennials thrive within the stone foundation of a barn, a poignant remind of the 1940 blaze that ripped through the property.

Terrain: Slightly hilly throughout.

Parking: One-sided street parking only
