Welcome to the silent auction site for Friends of the Shelter's Java for the Shelter Pups winter pop-up auction fundraiser benefiting the sick and injured dogs of the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

A local Starbucks café generously donated lots of Starbucks whole bean coffee, cold-cup tumblers, stainless steel straw cups, plastic straw cups, mugs and key chains. The pop-up auction opens on Monday, 1/26, at 7 a.m. and will close on Friday, 1/30, at 7 p.m.   

The auction has 11 gift sets that include these great tumblers & cups, along with holiday, Christmas and Thanksgiving blend 16 oz. whole bean coffee that is good until April/May 2026. We’re grateful that our local Starbucks friends have donated to help us raise some money for the sick & injured shelter dogs!  

When the auction ends, you can either check out yourself or we will run the credit card you used for registration for any unpaid items later that day or the next day. If you check out yourself, you can choose to use the credit card you used for registration.

We will be in touch with you after the event to arrange for pick-up or drop-off. We can ship most of the items, if desired, at your cost.   

Mabel is a gorgeous three-year-old Golden Retriever with a sad story and a very happy ending. Mabel was found by a Franklin County sheriff. Sadly, the sheriff did a wellness check on Mabel’s human mom and learned she had passed away. While Mabel had been very well cared for and loved, she was limping when she was found. The shelter medical team learned that Mabel had orthopedic surgery at MedVet in 2024. Friends of the Shelter paid for Mabel to return to MedVet for an orthopedic examination to find out why she is limping.  While we were prepared to pay for any needed surgery, we were happy to learn that Mabel is just fine and not in any pain, she will just always limp as a result of her surgery.  

Now, for the happy ending: the sheriff and his family fell in love with Mabel and will be adopting her!  She already loves them and is settling in nicely in their foster home until the adoption is finalized.  Your support allows the shelter dogs to have a second chance. 

Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit that funds the medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.  Each year, our volunteers organize events to raise money for this care, which exceeded $200,000 last year.  Your donations and attendance at our events help fund the care for shelter dogs.

Please note that if you set up an account for a previous event, your account should still be active (including the bidder number), but you may need to re-enter your credit card information.

For the 11 auction items, the opening bid is listed on the item. You can place a bid or you can set a maximum bid so that the auction software will bid for you throughout the week up to your maximum bid. You’ll receive notifications when you’ve been outbid, and you can increase your bid if you wish.
