About Schott Communities

Our mission: Schott Communities, founded with the belief that every person has the right to be treated with dignity and care, is dedicated to providing life-enriching programs, services and residences to meet the multiple needs of persons who are deaf or disabled. 

Schott Communities is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1986 to address the needs of this special population. The agency is an extension of the ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami. 

Schott's philosophy is rooted in the belief that a person's worth lies not in their productivity, but in his or her ability to offer and receive love. Unique to Florida, Schott Communities develops residential housing for the deaf or disabled; designs programs to assist participants develop skills for independent living; offers educational programs to promote self-sufficiency, and provides clients with social, recreational and spiritual opportunities to enhance their quality and enjoyment of life. In an environment of caring and dignity, persons who are deaf or disabled are encouraged and challenged to grow in self-acceptance and independence.    

About the Event

Join us as we celebrate many of our determined Schott clients walk down the "runway" exuding confidence and joy, and feeling like the supermodels they truly are. It is a fun and spirited program which inspires us to overcome whatever adversities we may face. 

This annual event, along with the special moments that take place every day at Schott Communities, is made possible because of your support. You are the families and friends who enable us to continue our dedication and caring for people with special needs in our diverse South Florida community.
