About CAN Council

Founded in 1979, the Child Abuse and Neglect Council is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education, awareness, intervention, and advocacy. Our Children's Advocacy Center provides expert forensic interviews in a safe, supportive environment for children who have been physically or sexually abused or have witnessed a violent act, our Court Appointed Special Advocates program provides advocates for children in the court system due to abuse or neglect as well as children in the juvenile justice system and our Child Abuse Prevention Education program offers school-based, community and professional development programs that prevent child abuse through education.

We are building communities where children are free from abuse and neglect.
