WHY

Where did you get them? These are all brand new rugs from a local company that donates the discontinued patterns to organizations that help other people.  Isn't that nice?

Why are we having a rug auction? I know, right.  What a strange thing to do for a fundraiser. When someone gifts you this many rugs, you use it to help other people. 


AUCTION

What is mobile bidding?  Mobile bidding is the process of bidding on auction items, from your mobile device. It replaces traditional paper auctions by providing easy-to-use bidding from electronic devices. 

 

My family/friends who live out of town/state want to bid – can they?  You bet!  Of course, there is a BUT - WE DO NOT SHIP any items, so they will need to have someone else pick up their items within the allocated time for pick up.


What are the times for pick up? Glad you asked: Sunday, May 15th from 1-3p, Wednesday, May 18th from 5-7p or Saturday, May 21 from 8-10a.

Where do we pick up the rugs? You will pick them up in Carrollton, of course.  We will provide all of the details to the winners of the rugs after the auction closes. 

 

Is ClickBid secure?  Yes. ClickBid’s entire application lives on a private network isolated in the cloud from any other infrastructure. Tight access policies manage requests in and out. 


Do I get notices when I’ve been “outbid” on an item?  You bet. ClickBid will send real-time outbid notices via text to ensure reliable delivery.  

 

I already selected "no" or replied "STOP" to the SMS text message alerts, not realizing that I wouldn't receive outbid notices. Can I fix it? Yes! Text "START" to 56651 to begin receiving real-time notices from ClickBid again.

 

How do I check-in and out of the event?  The vast majority of our guests will use their phones for the entire mobile bidding process. That includes pre-event check-in, bidding, payment and check-out.  


BIDDING

What if I’m not tech savvy? If you can browse a web site on your phone, you can use ClickBid!   If you need assistance, please contact hello@connectingthecommunity.org or text 214.770.6280.

I forgot my bidder #? Type your phone # or email address in the bidder # box. Tap GO. You also can tap on the "?" for help.

What is a 'Max Bid'? A great way to “set it and forget it” for those items you really want and know exactly how much you’ll pay for them! By placing a “Max Bid“ on an item, ClickBid will automatically outbid other bidders by the required increment, without exceeding your set “max.”

What if I bid on something I didn't mean to? Right after you place a bid, you have the option to "undo" on the confirmation banner at the top of the screen. Once this banner goes away, you will need to see an event volunteer wearing a red apron to remove it.

How do I know I am the winning bid?  When you log into ClickBid you can easily view your bidding activity on your ‘My Bids’ page. During the event you can return to an item and increase active bids by clicking the item from this page.

Did I win? Once the auction has closed, you can look under MENU/MY ITEMS to view everything that you have won/purchased.  

Do I have to pay with the credit card I registered with? Yes.

IMPORTANT: All items not picked up by Saturday, May 21, 2022 will be considered donations back to the organization.
