About Student Missions

About Student Missions

We are raising funds to send more than 100 high school students from Cobb and Paulding Counties on mission internationally in the summer of 2026. This trip will give our students an opportunity to serve in another country and contribute to a community different than their own. Our most recent trip was to Nairobi, Kenya in 2024, working with our strategic partner, Swahiba Networks. Burnt Hickory sees lives transformed through leading worship, day camps in parks, and servicing the community. Working in local schools in church partnerships, we were able to reach thousands of people, both in the schools and in the surrounding community.

For the past 28 years, Burnt Hickory has taken students on trips to Dominica, Kenya (three times), Australia, Belize, Prague, Quito and Manta, Ecuador, New Orleans, and Alaska (two times). Not only do we travel to these communities, but we also contribute to them. In Kenya, we provided the Masai tribe with two large water tanks and a tanker truck to provide for their drinking water We also donated sound equipment for the Swahiba building to upgrade their systems to better reach their audtience. In Belize we donated clothing and sound equipment in addition to giving financially to their specific local mission needs.
