About the gala

Going Above & Beyond

ASK was started in 1975 by parents of pediatric cancer patients and hospital team members who banded together to provide mutual support. Today, ASK is Virginia's most comprehensive provider of education assistance, family and financial support, and peer connection for children with cancer and their families.

The ASK Above & Beyond Gala is our community's biggest night to help make life better for children with cancer in Virginia. Last year's 50th anniversary gala raised $2.2 million to provide joy and hope to childhood cancer patients, survivors, and their families across Virginia. We can't wait to bring our ASK community together again on March 21, 2026!

It's an exciting time for ASK as we are transforming lives by raising the level of care for all children with cancer across Virginia. Our amazing community of sponsors, table captains and supporters have continuously stepped up to shatter fundraising records to help make life better.

Let's continue the momentum together and raise the volume for children with cancer and their families when they need us most!

The Gala Features:

  • Cocktail Reception
  • Seated Dinner
  • Entertainment
  • Silent & Live Auctions
  • Raffles
  • After-Party

About ASK

Assistance | Support | Kindness

With 6-7 childhood cancer diagnoses per week across Virginia, financial assistance, educational support, and opportunities for connection are needed now more than ever. Your support will enable ASK to continue its work to be there for our families from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. Through your generosity, we can be there to provide families with something as big as financial assistance to pay their rent this month, or something as little as a snack, a toy, or a shoulder to cry on. All proceeds raised by ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation directly impact the lives of children with cancer and their families. Visit askccf.org to learn more.
