On World Diabetes Day, November 14, 2021, Diabetes Canada will be hosting a virtual 100 Year Celebration to End Diabetes. 100 years ago, Canadian researchers Frederick Banting, Charles Best, James Collip and John Macleod made the dream of isolating and purifying insulin for human use a reality. Since the discovery of insulin, there have been huge strides and key advances in mapping and understanding diabetes and its complications. Insulin is a game-changer for those living with diabetes. However, it is not a cure.
