This signature fundraising event supports Christ-centered education and advances the mission of our Academy. Guests will enjoy a formal dinner, live and silent auctions, and an unforgettable performance by SKYROCKET!, one of Texas’ most dynamic and entertaining show bands.
Since 1907, San Marcos Academy has prepared students for lives of leadership, service, and faith. Your participation in the gala helps provide vital funding for academic programs, campus improvements, fine arts, athletics, and student life. Last year’s gala raised over $250,000, with more than 50 sponsors and 380 attendees—including $40,000 during the “Paddles Up” appeal for Fine Arts.

THE BAND

Skyrocket's witty and fearless attitude all started when a group of friends (veterans from Austin’s indie-rock, alternative, and songwriter scenes) discovered their common craze for the days of anthem hits, and one-hit wonders. From there, Skyrocket spread its wings to include all the AM/FM singles they loved growing up. With each band member proficient at many instruments, they boldly tackled material that other bands wouldn’t… note for note… to frightening levels of accuracy. The members of Skyrocket bring years of touring, recording and event programming experience to the stage, yet they approach all performances with an uncontrived spirit of ecstatic fun. Fans embrace Skyrocket with the same fervor as they do their favorite original artists.
