Welcome to our spring plant sale! We start with an online sale and end with our traditional in-person sale during Raulston Blooms!

Our sales have a reputation for including hot new introductions, hard to find specialty plants along with our favorite reliable performers. This sale has it all. Our horticulturists have been busy creating an amazing plant list including plants from greenhouses and nurseries around the country!

JCRA members shop our sales first. It is our way of saying, "thank you for the continued support." Not a member, join today! We are passionate about connecting people with plants and love our plant-loving community.

Sale Opens to MEMBERS ONLY - 12:00 PM ET, Wednesday, April 3, 2024Sale Opens to Everyone - 9:00 AM ET, Monday, April 8, 2024Sale closes at midnight on Wednesday, April 10, 2024Plant Pick-up is by appointment: April 18-20. You will schedule a time to pick up all your plants.

Know Before You Shop!

• No shipping. You must be able to pick up your plants or send someone to get them for you.
• Between April 3 and April 10, the plant sale is online only. We will not have any of these plants for sale at the Arboretum until our in-person sale at Raulston Blooms!
• Know what size plant you are buying.  Pot size is noted in the description and a "pot" shot is included showing similar size of plant. Note: "Glamour" shots are included only to show what a more mature plant will look like.
• Please checkout within 24 hours of placing your plants in your cart. Unpaid plants will be deleted from your cart after 24 hours, so don't forget to check out!
• If you need to edit quantities or delete an item from your cart, please email us at jcra-events@ncsu.edu. (You cannot do it on your own.)
• If you do not receive a receipt via email, your purchase did not go through.
• Plant picks-ups are only scheduled by appointment through Sign-up Genius.
  We will have your plants ready at the time you select. The pick up days are April 18-20.
• We will not be able to hold plants until the in-person sale.
• Our in-person sale is at Raulston Blooms!, a ticketed event (free for members).

• JCRA Members get to shop both online and in-person sales before they open for everyone to shop. Join now.
• There will be plants offered at our in-person sale that will not be offered in the online sale and vise versa. Both sales are worth shopping!

How do I . . .   

. . .participate in the online sale?

Simple. Click the 'Register Now' button. You will need to provide your phone number, address and credit card details when you register to participate. Your card will not be charged unless you select to check out.

Once registered, you will be given instructions to log onto ClickBid where you can select the plants from your phone or from a computer. (details here).  Select the red "PAY" button to complete your order.

 . . .use my bidder number and password from a previous Arboretum sale or auction?

• ClickBid is no longer using your stored passwords. Instead, you gain access using a one-time-code.
• Enter cell phone number or email address below. 
• Enter one-time-code sent to you via email or text messaging at password prompt. (Note: Open text message to copy the code. If you are not receiving the login code on your mobile phone: Text Start to 56651.)
• Update Credit Card details, if needed.
• Still having trouble? Clear the cache on your browser.

It is nearly impossible for me to pick out just a handful of plants in this year’s online plant sale but if I had to start anywhere, right at the top would be Acer japonicum 'Emmett's Pumpkin’ with its orange caressed spring foliage and blaze of fall color. 

I might also add Canna musifolia for its astounding tropical look and size—up to 10’ tall in the garden! We’ll have heat tolerant evergreen rhododendron, edible ornamentals like blueberries, and a host of native and pollinator plants.

We hope you find some amazing plants for your home garden and, as always, we appreciate your support of our mission.

How to View or Purchase Plants:

• You may preview the plants by scrolling to the bottom of this page when the sale goes live.
• You must register to purchase plants.
• If you have trouble logging in, clear the cache on your browser, or try a different browser.
• If you still cannot place an order, email jcra-events@ncsu.edu with your best phone number and we will assist you.

Tips for Shopping the Sale:

• Do not let the auction language (continue bidding, etc.) confuse you. All plants are a set price and there are limited quantities.
• If you need to delete something in your cart, or edit the quantity ordered, EMAIL jcra-events@ncsu.edu with details. JCRA Staff will make those updates for you.
• Your credit card will not be charged unless you check out. 
• Remember to select the RED PAY NOW button to complete your order. 
• Unpaid plants will be deleted from your cart after 24 hours, so don't forget to check out!

Plant Pick Up Appointments:

• You must be able to pick up your plants on our pick-up dates: April 17, 18 or 19. No shipping is available. Friends can pick up plants for you.
• Make your appointment for plant pick-up via Sign-up Genius

  • Your appointment will be in a time window of 15 minutes. If you are early, go ahead and get in line.
• Pick a date or time that suits you. If you need personal assistance, please email jcra-events@ncsu.edu.
• We will send you a map & directions. The plant pick up location will be 506 Horticulture Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. This is not a public entrance to the JCRA. It is located in the NC State University Horticulture Field Lab. We will have a pick up tent and volunteers on hand to help you load.
