Acadiana Animal Aid's extraordinary and impactful fundraiser, Bark in the Dark, takes place on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the UL Ballroom.
This incredible evening brings together our community's most dedicated philanthropists, business leaders, and animal welfare advocates to support the lifesaving work of Acadiana Animal Aid and the over 2,000 shelter pets we rescue each year.
The Bark in the Dark gala includes entertainment, dinner, an exhilarating live auction, and most importantly the ability to change the lives of Louisiana shelter pets who need us most.
Acadiana Animal Aid is the region’s leader in animal adoption, fostering, volunteerism, and education.
We provide a safe place to land for animals at risk of euthanasia before they take off to their adoptive homes.
For 49 years, we have played a vital role in saving animals from impoverished, resource-deprived communities.
We transfer in pets at risk of euthanasia from municipal shelters throughout the state, provide veterinary and daily care,
and create pathways to their futures.
Our commitment to saving our region’s pets runs deep – in 2022, we saved nearly 2,000 cats and dogs through local and out-of-state
adoptions and transport.
Our Bark in the Dark event sponsors make a lifesaving difference for Louisiana cats and dogs. Each year, our supporters power our ability to rescue over 2,000 shelter pets pulled from high-kill municipal shelters. Your support makes it possible for us to provide safe shelter, medical care, rescue and rehabilitation, protection from cruelty and neglect, and so much more. Our sponsors support every aspect of our work both
at the shelter and in the community. We couldn't do this work without you!
