COMPETITION CATEGORIES
• Brisket, Chicken and Ribs
• People’s Choice Awards (voted on by the attendees)
• Meat: Non-judge guests will cast votes for the People’s Choice Award for overall best team/meat.
• Side: Optional team participation. Side dishes can be savory or sweet. Non-judge attendees will cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award for best overall side dish.
TIMELINE
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30
- 11:30 am Mandatory Pit Boss Meeting, other team members are encouraged to attend.
- During this meeting we will distribute event wristbands, parking passes, and event layout.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
10:00 am - 5:00 pm Load-in; DO NOT arrive earlier than 10:00 am
10:00 am - Noon Enter at Outer Circle Dr and Challenger Dr. (Section 1)
12:30 pm - 2:30 pm Enter Outer Circle Dr. (Section 2)
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Enter Outer Circle Dr. (Section 3)
5:00 pm - 5:30 pm Check-in and warm up Cornhole Tournament
5:30 pm Cornhole Tournament begins
5:30 pm Meat Check and COSA Health Inspections begin (Following the same order as load-in)
11:00 pm- 5:00 am Quiet Hours
Full Teams may stay overnight on Friday, November 1
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2
- 8:00 am Event area opens for load-in/set-up
- 11:00 am Set up complete and ready to serve at Noon
- 12:00 pm Begin serving
- 12:40 pm Chicken turn-in
- 2:10 pm Ribs turn-in
- 3:40 pm Brisket turn-in
- 5:00 pm Serving ends
- 5:30 pm Winners announced
- 6:00 pm Load out begins
- All teams must safely exit the event area by 11:59 pm (No overnight stay on Saturday night).
WHAT WILL CPS ENERGY PROVIDE?
• One designated 35’ W x 25’ D team space
• One 10’ X 10’ covered booth for handing out samples and for voting
• Two 8’ banquet tables
• Electrical supply (Two 20-amp 120volt circuits with 4 outlets)
• Health permit
• Fire permit
• Electrical permit
• Two parking spaces (in addition to any vehicles you can fit into your 35’ W x 25’ D space)
• Paper towels, trash bags, and (2) tarps
- One tarp should be placed under your 10x10 tent, and the other in your prep area, both serving as impervious floor coverings.
TASTING SAMPLES
• A tasting sample is a small portion of meat and/or side items.
• Prepare a minimum of 200 tasting samples. Tastings votes determine the People’s Choice Award winners for overall team/meat and side dish (side dish is optional).
