TEAM: TEAM ABC

Team ABC is comprised of students at ABC Ballroom located in Noblesville, Indiana. The dance studio is named for the ABC Drive-in located in Noblesville from 1951-1994. It was founded by native Nicole Coy and her husband, John, in October 2019 as a place to learn and develop social and competitive ballroom dancing skills. With only being open four months before the onset of COVID-19 forced the business to close, the studio reopened and has continued to be a presence in the community. They offer ballroom and social dance style group classes, private lessons and parties on Friday nights where everyone is welcome to practice dancing in a social atmosphere. ABC’s primary instructors are Abby McGrew and Adam Trogdlen.

PROFESSIONALS:  ABBY McGREW & ADAM TROGDLEN

Dancing Like the Stars is a very special event to Abby McGrew. Her first ballet class was in high school with “Miss Anne” (Hardacre) in 2001, and her first ballroom class was a social dance class in the Paramount Theatre's Hardacre Ballroom- all made possible by her grandmother, Kay Anderson. After high school, she continued her training in ballroom dance at Brigham Young University-Idaho. There, she competed in international styles, Theater Arts, and also on formation teams. Abby believes strongly in continuing education for all dancers and is currently learning and competing in Country Dance. She loves learning, and performing, but her true passion is in teaching others the joy of dance. Abby feels lucky to be teaching at ABC Ballroom in Noblesville.

Adam Trogdlen began teaching in 2007 with Arthur Murray and is now proudly teaching at ABC Ballroom in Noblesville. He specializes in teaching beginner dancers and West Coast Swing. In his dancing career, he has had the opportunity to train and dance with top professionals in all dances across the country. He has had the honor to teach professional athletes including NBA All Stars and IndyCar drivers. Adam has competed numerous times in both the Hamilton County Meals on Wheels’ Dancing with Our Stars and the Paramount Theatre’s Dancing Like the Stars. This is his seventh year participating in this event at the Paramount. He relishes any opportunity to use his dance knowledge and training for such great community causes.
