CELEBRITY:  JOEL ALVARADO

Joel Alvarado frequents Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino here in Anderson. Joel moved from Los Angeles and has worked in casting and film production. He has appeared in TV, movies, and even sang backup for Dennis DeYoung, of the band Styx, during DeYoung's solo tour.

His artist development came from the industry renowned Renee Grant Williams in Nashville, TN. While in development, Joel has perfected his songwriting and vocal abilities. Joel Alvarado is the modern-day Goober Pyle due to his role in the Andy Griffith Show inspired movie, Mayberry Man.

He is ready to take center stage at the Paramount Theater and prove to himself and others that his dance ability is not a “moose in mud!” When asked about how he thinks he will do in the Dancing Like the Stars competition, Joel says, in typical Mayberry charm, “Why It will be more swell than Aunt Bees’ feet when she got grape stompin’ and bee keepin’ confused.”

He is passionate about doing his part in maintaining the history of the classic Paramount Theater for future generations to enjoy! Joel wants to let the audience know that in these unprecedented times of suffering that the world is facing, life is better with a dose of Mayberry Magic and... Goober says Hey!
