Dan Miller’s paintings and drawings are composed of overlays of words and numbers and built to the point of abstraction. His process transforms text into graphic elements, and employs an abstract visual language that is used as a tool for inquiry and expression. Miller has practiced at Creative Growth since 1992. and has had solo exhibitions in New York at White Columns, Andrew Edlin Gallery, and Ricco Maresca Gallery and in Los Angeles at Diane Rosenstein Gallery. His work was included in the 2017 Venice Biennale and is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; American Folk Art Museum, New York; Berkeley Art Museum, Berkeley, CA; MADmusée, Belgium; and Collection de l’Art Brut, Lausanne, Switzerland.
