Fish, ice, barrels, and boats! Explore the historical bounty of Sandusky Bay with 4 couples.
Enjoy an educational sunset cruise on historic Sandusky Bay with the Director of the Maritime Museum of Sandusky aboard a beautifully restored Lyman Sportsman. Your evening will begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Maritime Museum and conclude with pleasant conversation…punctuated by glasses of local Lake Erie wines while the sun sinks into the west end of Sandusky Bay. What happens in between those planned bookends is entirely up to the winners of this auction item! Time it right, and you’ll be able to enjoy unique seats for a Jackson Street Pier concert…or a “chauffeured” ride to dinner at Bay Harbor.
The boat, Work of Art, rolled off the Lyman factory floor in 1967 and recently returned to its original homeport from New Hampshire where she was judges' perennial favorite at boat shows on Lake Winnipesaukee. One of Lyman’s biggest “open runabouts,” there’s ample seating for four couples…or a couple of nuclear families. The boat is stable, comfortable, and surprisingly fast for her size. However, we wouldn’t want anyone to spill Seyval Blanc on the deck, so we’ll maintain an even Lyman keel and leave the heeling excitement to the sailors and the “need for speed” to the Cigarette skippers.
Come aboard for an evening on the Bay…and learn about the commodities and early businesses that put Sandusky on the map while enjoying the scenic beauty that keeps it there!
