A deep, opaque ruby-violet in the glass, it’s immediately aromatic, with notes of dark fruit, dried rose, pie crust, and oak. It’s powerful yet decadent, with tightly knit tannins that lay the foundation for lush flavors of blackberry preserves, dark chocolate, spice, and a subtle undercurrent of savoriness. A gentle swell of acidity provides a pleasant balance to the wine’s dense concentration, carrying it to a long, perfumed finish. This wine is captivating from the first pour, but will continue developing complexity with some time in the decanter.
