I want to introduce to my network a cause that could benefit from this giving season. Currently, I am fundraising for The Relational Center (TRC), a non-profit for which I am grateful to receive training as an associate marriage and family therapist. TRC offers low-cost individual, family, and intimate-relationship counseling; in addition to free and low-cost groups, classes, and workshops in Los Angeles. The organization’s mission is to lead a shift to a culture that values empathy, diversity, and interdependence. In line with its values, TRC makes this support financially accessible to the community: most of our members pay between $60-$160 per month for weekly counseling sessions and have access to unlimited groups, classes, and workshops. I was originally drawn to TRC's values of community, connection, and anti-oppression, as well as the unparalleled training curriculum they offer new therapists. Now as an associate, I have made TRC my therapy home. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to provide sliding-scale support to the Los Angeles community and experience firsthand how resilient, curious, compassionate, and remarkable our clients are.
