202 - Meet Local Author and Movie-Maker Thomas Rumreich

Meet the author of a murder mystery readers are calling a "superb" and "compelling" page turner. Invite up to six total guests to meet with local Scandia crime novelist and moviemaker Thom Rumreich and his wife Ruth Ronning at a local St. Croix River home in Scandia. 

Chat with Thom about how he drew upon traumatic events in his formative years to craft his best-selling murder mystery “Unholy Communion." Be sure to check the rave reviews posted on Amazon. And that’s not all. Filming for a soon-to-launch movie based on the book wrapped in St. Paul last winter, and Ruth is a co-producer. Hear about the process for selecting actors and filming the movie.

Thom earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1973. He also holds a master’s degree in psychology. For 16 years, he served as the forensic odontologist for the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is trial certified as an expert witness in forensic dentistry. He completed his training in death investigation at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Thom and Ruth live in Scandia. This is his first novel. The profits from book sales are being donated to Survivor’s Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP).
