This member only course is limited to outside play. Since opening in the fall of 1992, the private Secession Golf Club is rank the 11th best golf course in South Carolina and heralded as one of the best of the entire southern region of the country. It undoubtedly deserves this reputation.

Situated on Gibbes Island in the heart of the SC Lowcountry, it sits in perfect isolation among the tidal inlets with no housing on or around the property. An excellent course, Secession is an homage to Scotland and "Links-like" is an apt description, as there are few trees to block the picturesque views of the surrounding marsh.

A round here is enhanced by the club rule of walking the course with a caddie, enabling players more time to take in the surroundings, especially since 14 of the fairways are laid out along this scenic marsh land and moss draped live oaks.
