You may have encountered this plant incorrectly labeled as ‘Plum Passion’. The original plants were imported from Japan by Ted Stephens and Dan Hinkley. It was renamed ‘Burgandy Bliss’ and then when acquired by Monrovia from JCRA as Plum Passion. This quagmire should be settled back to the original and correct cultivar ‘Koki’. This form was discovered in Hubei Province China by Mikinori Ogisu. Regardless, this is an absolutely amazing purple-leafed, sun-tolerant Hydrangea that has thrived in our garden here at JLBG
