This species Camellia is found in Hunan, Guizhou, and Jiangxi provinces of China, so we would guess this would give it some hardiness. Multiple buds are set at each node and the 1 to 1.5 inches across flowers generally face downwards. They're surprsingly strongly fragrant for a Camellia. The leaves are very small, only just over an inch long, which gives the plant a very fine texture.
