From https://www.terryacebodavis.gallery/: Artist’s Credo

As an individual blessed with dual vocations of an Artist and a Registered Nurse, I have learned the art of balance, creating visual narratives that are deeply rooted in life experiences. In recent years, my artistic content has evolved to address the vulnerabilities associated with aging, while simultaneously highlighting the enduring relevance of diverse histories and the persistent racial inequities that fuel our society. My artistic expressions have varied in scale and medium, ranging from intimate works on paper to large-scale installations.  I have been concentrating on drawing the figure  and portraiture again that is a forever ritual of Art practice.  I also keep bending the rules with the non-traditional and re-purposed materials I care to use.

Retired from my day job as a Registered Nurse of over four decades, it is time for reflection and to envision those aspects of my Art life that have been put on hold, like travel and engaging with the world.   My current projects are collaborative and intuitively based allowing myself time to savor the process of making and not feeling constrained about time.  Never alone in my studio, memories and new beginnings are here to guide my content and form.
