About the Aircraft honored: VF-17 “Jolly Rogers” flying F-4 Corsair aircraft were one of the most successful squadrons in the Pacific theatre in WWII. Based in the Solomon Islands, their heroic missions against the Imperial Japanese Forces resulted in 152 combat victories and 11 Aces. The design illustrates the colors and markings of the unit as well as displaying an authentic piece of metal from an F-4U Corsair. This work of art is worthy of a prominent display in the collection of a true lover of aviation.
