Biography:   In 2016, Joan met artist Priscilla A. Phifer, who invited her to he Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club (DFABC). It was that visit that opened her eyes to a whole new world of awesome artists, quilters, photographers, writers and collectors.  She became a member of the DFABC after her first visit. That exposure gave her the confidence to pursue her dream of becoming an artists.  Most of these individuals were willing to critique, demonstrate and help to improve one's art.  Michael Horner, renowed artist of landscape/abstract agreed to give Joan private lessons to improve her artistic ability.  She now felt her dream become a reality.

Joan's work has been included in the 60 over 60 Hannan Center Belle Isle Competition, the Charles Wright Museum Gala Art Auction in 2019, the National Conference Artist in Michigan auction, the 2020 Hannan Center Kayrod Gallery exhibit and in 2021 at The Congregation.
