Among the best private golf courses in South Carolina, the Rees Jones-designed masterpiece at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek enjoys two unique distinctions: Not only was it named “America’s Best New Private Course” by Golf Digest in 2002, it’s also the only Silver Audubon Signature Sanctuary course in the entire Palmetto State.

Given those accolades, you might think that it’s tough to get a tee time. In fact, it’s impossible because there are no tee times at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. With just 200 members, most of whom don’t live there full-time, tee times are unnecessary. Members and their guests play when it suits them and often have the entire golf course to themselves.

But that’s only half of the story at Briar’s Creek. Certainly, it’s one of South Carolina’s finest private golf courses, but it’s also one of the Lowcountry’s most beautifully secluded residential communities.
