This Chardonnay from the village of Chassagne-Montrachet and produced by Louis Jadot has a full-bodied, ripe and opulent texture, a standard for the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy region. Aromas of roasted apple and pear, with citrus skin and candied lemon plus damp earth all compete for attention. This white shows great elegance and persistence over the very long finish. While built to age, this wine also delivers great pleasure at this early stage.

The 2017 Upper Barn Vineyard Chardonnay expresses Stargazer lily, yellow nectarine, and orange blossom on the nose. The palate reflects those qualities together with a savory underpinning. The texture is both opulent and elegant, exhibiting the balance of fruit and a quartz-like translucency that only age, and the superb site situated at 1,800 feet in Sonoma County, can bring to a wine. This wine is extremely well-integrated with a lingering, mouthwatering, and round finish.

Subtle mint and cocoa add further nuance and complexity. Youthfully high-toned palate - lively, refreshing, and energetic. Deep core of layered red and black fruits broadens with air to a granular texture - seamless and cascading. Gravel, slate, and stone notes provide complexity. Good tannic definition combines with direct acidity to extend the wine's finish and lingering flavor.

Decadent notes of vanilla cream, hazelnut and smoke introduce this intensely concentrated Chardonnay sourced from the iconic Grand Cru Les Clos. Intensely ripe in yellow apple, lemon and tangerine flavors, the weighty sip is framed by zippy acidity and a lingering spicy finish. This wine, produced by Louis Jadot, needs time to mature, but it should approach peak from 2025 and improve through 2040.

The 2013 Black Sears boasts deep, inky color and a cornucopia of intense blue, purple, and black fruit along with the minerality and exotic citrus and spice overtones that Howell Mountain and the Black Sears estate have come to be known for. This is a wine that delicately straddles the fine line between power and grade, with a nose that eagerly leaps from the glass; a rich, leathery midpalate loaded with fruit and subtle notes of tobacco and anise; dense, ripe, muscular tannins; and a bright, fresh finish that seems to last for weeks.
