196 - Lyn Rollins - "Look On The Bright Side"

Fresh flowers always boost my mood.  This painting is my way of expressing my immediate impression of the bright hues and the scattering of light.  I used the unique qualities of gouache to create a vivid statement with a matte, almost velvet-like, finish.

As a lifelong artist, I have explored many creative outlets along the way.  Today I am committed to a disciplined practice of fine art, specifically drawing and painting in various mediums, both in the studio and in plein air.

As a lifelong learner, I have studied with many accomplished and nationally known artists, balancing a previous career in advertising with a love of fine art.  Today, my studies continue, and my art journey is a priority.

Creating art renews my spirit and feeds my soul.  Painting allows me to express awe and appreciation of beauty that surrounds us.  Whether I choose the delicate details of a single leaf or the magnificence of a snowy mountain range, painting enables me to capture and record my gratitude.  I hope my art will inspire others to do the same.

Graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communications and a concentration in Art.

Enjoyed a 35-year career in advertising and marketing while working with a long list of clients from furniture to golf; to tourism and healthcare.

Grateful for the wide range of learning opportunities as well as the many wonderful relationships I've experienced along my art journey.
