Sage Hummer was inspired by the many hummingbirds that feed from the blue salvias in our garden.  It is a six color reduction relief print on Rives BFK paper which I printed on antique Vandercook SP15 letterpress.

Nature is never static.  Changes occur daily throughout the year.  I am drawn to the colors, textures, movements, and shapes.  It is a source of never ending magic and mystery that inspires me and brings me joy.  Two activities bring me solace in the daily challenges of life; working in my studio and in our gardens.  The two go hand-in-hand.

Mary Beth Boone is a book binder and letterpress printer inspired by the natural world.  She began making books thirty-five years ago.  Recent exhibitions include the Winter Show at the Green Hill Center, Greensboro in 2020 and Degrees of Commitment:  Climate, Ecosystems, and Society at the Arrowmont School of Crafts in 2023.  Her work is in both private and public collections.  Mary Beth resides in Greensboro.  She holds an MFA from the University of SC Columbia.  When she is not working in her print shop, you will find her in her gardens or out hiking in the woods.
